2019 Julie Balagny Vin De France Minouche

Deeper red. Dark berries, dark chocolate and dark minerality on the nose. It is deep, with a pretty perfume emerging from underneath. Supple texture that is weighty but fresh. There is lovely sweet fruit, and indeed perhaps a hint of residual sugar which acts as an invitation to drink more. In fact, it’s very moreish. It stretches the length of the wine. Dark berries, super smooth flowing texture, and ultimately unctuous. Lots of fine detail and soft tannins complete it. I’m really impressed with how good this is for an entry level. As the wine warms up and is exposed to air, pretty florals emerge. To drink this is soft and easy, very approachable – I think everyone will love this, from amateurs to pros.
